Salou, October 3, 2023
The Eluzai Association and the “la Caixa” Foundation, through CaixaBank, have renewed their commitment to collaboration to continue assisting hundreds of families in vulnerable situations in Salou. The signing of the agreement was carried out this Thursday with the assistance of Josué García, secretary of Eluzai and pastor of the Protestant Church of Salou, David Gilkinson, responsible for educational and youth projects in the Protestant Church of Salou, and Samantha Gilkinson, in representation of all the entity's volunteers, and Ana Buqueras, manager of Institutional Banking at CaixaBank.
The collaboration agreement includes a contribution of 10,000 euros that the Eluzai Association invests entirely in the purchase of food and basic necessities that are then distributed among the 225 families that are currently assisted in the assistance program carried out by the entity. In total, there are 720 people at risk of social exclusion who receive help directly from the Eluzai Association.
The president of the Eluzai Association, Patricia Ruiz, has expressed her gratitude for the “generous collaboration” of the “la Caixa” Foundation and has recalled that it serves to allow help and assistance to continue to be carried out for those who need it most. “Thanks to this type of contributions we can continue giving continuity to our social project and favor the situation of vulnerability in which the families and people we serve weekly find themselves,” he assured.
The Eluzai Association has been serving families and people in vulnerable situations in Salou for fifteen years. The entity carries out its assistance work on a weekly basis, with which it distributes food, clothing, footwear and other essential products. It also offers advice on existing social aid, a hygiene and food service for homeless people, and recreational and sports activities for minors at risk of social exclusion.
